So, Why is Travel Important When The Kids Are Grown and Gone?
When we took our first trip without kids we started off slowly. It was a familiar destination that turned out to be an amazing adult Disney trip (we have an article on that too!). It was a new type of vacation because we could plan exactly what we wanted to do (or not do) and it was great!
Since then, there have we have been busy rediscovering favorite places and trying to visit all of the places on our bucket list.
It is not just about couple travel either! We’ve done solo and friend trips (and the TMMH team trips) apart. Discovering the world again with a fresh vision comes with the freedom to plan different types of trips that cater to our individual interests.
We’ve found that there are unique desires and concerns for empty nesters. We’ve been through all of the highs and lows over the last few years of having our own empty nest and thought it would be great to share some reasons that more travel is perfect for empty nesters to help others feeling unsure of how to begin.
More travel can be great for us in so many ways and the freedom that comes after the kids have gone is a perfect opportunity to embark on new adventures.
Whether you’re seeking a tranquil beach getaway, a culturally-rich city break, or an exhilarating trek through the wilderness, this guide has you covered. We cover a wide range of destinations that cater to various interests, travel safety, budgets, and travel styles. We even have girls trip weekend ideas!
