Our journey begins in the charming town of Fredericksburg, a German-influenced community in the heart of Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg is home to several wineries and serves as the perfect base for your wine country adventure. A short drive eastward brings us to the small community of Stonewall, known for its peach orchards (it’s the peach capital) and wineries.
Stonewall is home to the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site, where visitors can explore the birthplace and early home of the 36th President of the United States.
During the spring, Stonewall and the surrounding area burst into a vibrant display of wildflowers, including the iconic Texas bluebonnets.

We loved Salt Lick bbq the most of all that we visited (even the more famous ones)! The wine tastings were a perfect end to our visit there.

If you are starting this road trip in Austin there is a fun Secret food tour that we took and loved! We even went back to a few of the stops for a longer meal.
Biking around Lady Bird Lake is also a fun activitiy and the Zilker Botanical Garden was a nice stop. You can make a whole day of hanging at the lake area!
