It’s always a good idea to save a little where you can on vacation. We’ve compiled a few activities and music in the surrounding Orlando area that doesn’t involve theme park admission. We have some other tips to save money on other vacations as well in our recent article.

1. Leu Gardens

The Harry P. Leu Gardens hosts a monthly Jazz and Blues Stroll on the first Friday of every month from April to August, featuring live music performances in a beautiful garden setting. If you love Jazz it is a must see! The weater is usually beautiful as well.

2. Orlando City Hall

The City of Orlando hosts a free concert series called Downtown Concert Series at City Hall every Friday evening from October to December. They even get some big name musical acts so it is something to definitely check out on your trip!

The Disney shopping and entertainment district hosts many free live music performances by local and regional artists, including jazz, pop, and rock bands. We love just sitting and listening to the guitarist that is there on the weekends. The best part is that entry into Disney Springs is free!

4. Park Ave CD’s

This popular record store in the Mills 50 neighborhood hosts free in-store concerts by local and touring artists on select evenings throughout the year. The Mills 50 neighborhood is super trendy and there are a lot of nice places to enjoy the evening!

Icon park has a large collection of fantastic restaurants and most of them have free live music! It is also free to enter Icon Park so you can save money by spending a few hours here!

6. Ft. Christmas Historical Park

This park in nearby Christmas, Florida, offers free admission and features a museum and historic buildings. It would be a nice visit if looking for a free activity around the Orlando area before leaving town.

7. Universal City Walk

Similar to Disney Springs, CityWalk at Universal Orlando is free to enter and offers a variety of free entertainment options, including live music performances, street performers, and themed architecture. It’s also nice to just hang out on the patio at one of the many kiosk bar/food places and people watch.

This lovely vineyard is located in Clermont, about 30 minutes from Orlando, Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards hosts free outdoor concerts on certain weekends throughout the year, featuring a variety of musical acts.

This boutique hotel in Winter Park hosts a free concert series called The Alfond Inn Jazz Series, featuring live jazz performances on select Sundays throughout the year.

10. Lake Eola Park

Located in downtown Orlando, Lake Eola Park offers a scenic lake, walking paths, and a playground, all for free which your family will love!

This busy farmers market in the historic Winter Park neighborhood is free and hosts a variety of vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade arts and crafts.



12. Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art

This museum is actually in Winter Park, but offers free admission on Friday nights from Nov. to April and features a collection of works by Louis C. Tiffany.

13. Celebration Town Center

This shopping and entertainment district in the planned community of Celebration offers free events and activities, including themed celebrations and live music concerts.

14. Cornell Fine Arts Museum

Located on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, the Cornell Fine Arts Museum is free and features a collection of over 5,000 engaging works of art to keep you busy for quite awhile.
