Texas Wine Country is located in the central part of the state, primarily within the Texas Hill Country region. Start: Fredericksburg, Texas
Our journey begins in the charming town of Fredericksburg, a German-influenced community in the heart of Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg is home to several wineries and serves as the perfect base for your wine country adventure. A short drive eastward brings us to the small community of Stonewall, known for its peach orchards (it’s the peach capital) and wineries.
Stonewall is home to the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site, where visitors can explore the birthplace and early home of the 36th President of the United States.
During the spring, Stonewall and the surrounding area burst into a vibrant display of wildflowers, including the iconic Texas bluebonnets.

Next, we head to Johnson City, a historic town named after the family of President Lyndon B. Johnson and his boyhood home is here.
Johnson City holds the distinction of being the “Sculpture Capitol of Texas,” with numerous art galleries and outdoor sculptures that reflect the region’s artistic spirit and creative expression. There are also many festivals here throughout the year!

We loved Salt Lick bbq the most of all that we visited (even the more famous ones)! The wine tastings were a perfect end to our visit there.

Biking around Lady Bird Lake is also a fun activitiy and the Zilker Botanical Garden was a nice stop. You can make a whole day of hanging at the lake area!
