It’s not only a New Year, it’s almost a new Festival Season in New Orleans!

Since the start of 2023 there have been so many happenings in New Orleans with the start of our Mardi Gras season (see our Mardi Gras Local’s Guide), but we have even more celebrations to look forward to this year!

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has released the 2023 Fest music lineup this morning and it looks to be another great year!

Millions of fans from all over the world will make the pilgrimage to New Orleans for Jazz Fest. It is truly one of our favorite times of the year and that is saying something with all of the celebrations that we have here in the Crescent City. New Orleans is my hometown of course, but there are so many fun things to do here on the weekends that finding a favorite is hard.

Some of the big name musical acts include Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, The Lumineers, and Dead & Company. However, there are 100’s more bands to see besides the headliners. We are so excited to see them of course and will be front and center for The Lumineers and Ed Sheeran, but are also excited to see Keb’ Mo’, Alison Krauss, Trombone Shorty, Big Freedia, Wu Tang Clan and the Soul Rebels.

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival takes place April 28-30 and May 4-7, 2023 and if you plan on visiting, I’d book my hotel accomodations now!

Where Should I Stay for New Orleans Jazz Fest?

If you want to stay within walking distance to the festival (it is held at the New Orelans Fairgrounds and Racetrack) then try to find a short term rental close to City Park in the Mid City Neighborhood of New Orleans. The Grey Line Jazz Fest Express also offers several park and ride bus pick ups throughout a few different areas in downtown New Orleans for those staying in hotels in the city.

This awesome VRBO rental is within walking distance to the Fairgrounds and near Esplanade Ave.

We also have a recent review of The Saint Hotel on Canal Street and a review of Hotel Fontenot New Orleans to check out before you plan.
